Nomenclature Name: Tarvaris Jackson Position: QB Number: 7 Team: Vikings
Changes OVR: 71->79 SPD: 73->83 ACC: 74->80 AGI: 75->80 AWR: 48->60 THA: 79->81
Reason for the SPD, ACC, AGI changes: He's only rushed thrice, against the Raiders, but he flew on all his runs, as well as literally juking a Linebacker out of his shoes on his long of 17 yds.
Reason for the AWR, THA changes: He's shown good touch and field awareness, both things that weren't expected out of him coming from D-IAA. I've seen every one of his passes, and each time he incompleted it was because the receiver dropped the ball (including splitting two defenders). He's played with the First-String O and D in preseason and showed he could hold his own.
As well, he continues to perform strongly in Training Camp.
Preseason stats:
Passing - | 16-24 (66.7%) | 140 yds | 1 TD | 0 INT | Lng - 26 | Avg. - 8.7 |
Rushing - | 3 att | 36 yds. | 12.0 avg. | Lng - 17 |
I calculated the OVR on Madden 06, seeing as how I don't have Madden 07 yet and it has the same OVR rating system.
Subject to completion of preseason and training camp.

Yeah, I think I'd give this a little time to see how he pans out. Pre-season stats mean very little. He's probably good to go where he's at right now, but long-term he is no doubt an exciting prospect.

He's not competing for the 3 spot; he's jumped up to the 2nd spot on the depth chart. When you see him play, he checks down to open receivers much better then people expected of him coming out of D-IAA.
Alas, perhaps the AWR should be lowered to make his OVR 74-75.

atta boy, legendary!
i like to see my mods being able to handle the contructive critisism with poise.
you argued your point but didnt turning this thread into a bitch fest, plus you even conceeded a bit.
this is how we should all act on this board.
bump him down to what you said and we can add this at the start of the season.

Alright, I checked the stats, and here's the AWR levels, based on the stats above:
AWR 50 - 76 OVR AWR 48 - 75 OVR AWR 46 - 74 OVR
If you notice, he comes into the game around 45 AWR. Most of the stat upgrades come from increasing the SPD, AGI, and ACC.
Also, I just finished seeing T-Jack in action against the Ravens, and he looked a little less composed than before. I'm guessing the situation is similar to Mike Bell in Denver, if but for the difference that T-Jack was drafted. Mike kills early on, than fumbles in the preseason opener while debuting as the no. 1 back. Now he's running well. It looks like T-Jack is following suit, learning to handle the pressure of being no. 2 on the Depth Chart. Before, when he came in and played well, he didn't have any pressure on him at all, being QB no. 4.
So, overly long-winded lecture aside, I say bump him down to 50 AWR.
Oh, and thanks for the complement. I learned from some very good forum-goers.

The Raiders played the Eagles in the HoF game, then the Vikes on MNF. This was the first game for the Vikes; their second was the Steelers.
